HOPI EAR CANDLING History In the Americas, Native Hopi Indians of Arizona are considered to have a great knowledge of healing, as they are in close harmony with Mother Nature. This is where we borrow the name for ear candling. The name HOPI (also known as Thermo-Auricular Therapy) means 'peaceful people.' Hopi ear candle treatments are becoming increasingly popular in Western society. Curiousity? Maybe, however, it can appear puzzling how such a simple treatment can provide such wonderful results.
A Hopi treatment may help:
A Hopi treatment will involve the client laying on their side, while a lit ear candle is placed inside the ear, creating a 'drag and suction effect.' This gives the inner ear a gentle and pleasant massage for ten minutes. This is repeated on both sides for each ear. A fifteen minute Sinus or Auricular massage may follow,
depending on the clients needs. All contraindications will be explained on the
day. |
